29. Rollover bar

I decided to add a rollover bar.
If an accident will happen, the only protection for the head(s) is a GRP roof... not that much.

Security first !

But another important reason is, that a roll over bar will be perfect to mount the new automatic shoulder belt on the best position.

Security second !

Another very important reason is, that it looks dammed fine to have a rollover bar.

So I start to figure out how I can fix it.

The roll over bar shall be placed behind the headrests to prevent, that the head can crash against it - a friend of mine was killed by such a accident. He crashed with the side twoards a tree and break his head at the rollover cage. The little foam around it did not help. The car was not damaged a lot - the cage protected the car - not the driver...

The plates were mounted at the upper seat belt mountings ( under the headrests ) and at the rear mountings ( see the screws next to the seat belt rolls ) which I have welded in - saw it at Martyns blog.
The rear plates will be connected with a steel flat bar
The struts will be welded at the free area at the rear plats.

The plan is ready. Now I have to activate a freind who can bend such tubes...
