11. Rims or wheels

I do not know the difference between rims and wheels, but I got this really nice ones:
Size is 8x15 ET10 (offest) and 10x15 ET-15 (offset).
But I assume the worst: the rear ones may be too wide. Possible, that the tyres will not be coverd by the body.

I can not try this cause everything is disassembled.

Lets see...

  1. Hi,
Good to see you making progress, just to let you know my front wheels are wider than the rear to compensate for the wider axle at the rear,

  2. Hi Martyn,
do you mean, that your wheels on the front have more offset as on the rear?
Or do you mean the width of the rims itself - which will be really unusual.

  4. the difference between rims and wheels, rims always refers to the metal part of the wheel, alloy, steel, magnesium or even wood, that the tyre goes on to, wheels is more amgiguous, some people use the word wheel to refer to the metal part but very often people use the word wheel to refer to the complete unit with tyre fitted, e.g. the spare wheel (always has a tyre on, not much use without a tyre) keep up the good work, ion drakos.
